The scope of Teleport service licence is as under;
Any Company with less than 50% foreign shareholding (if any), having resident Pakistani Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Rs. 50 Million minimum paid-up capital, can apply for a PEMRA teleport service licence, provided they meet the eligibility criteria defined in PEMRA Teleport Service licencing Regulations-2018.
An applicant need to submit a formal application to PEMRA, which includes filling out the required form, providing detailed information about the proposed service, and submitting the prescribed documents including application processing fee.
Applicants must demonstrate financial stability and capability to operate the teleport service. This includes providing financial statements, proof of funding, and paying the requisite licencing fees.
Applicable licence fee is determined through bidding. However base price of the licence is Rs. 50 Million (Payment option of which includes payment in installments). A Teleport licencee shall also have to pay Annual renewal fee of the licence as defined under Regulation-5 of PEMRA Teleport Service licencing Regulations-2018.
